Pastor Robbie Delgado

I was born and raised here in the City Different, my parents sent me to a private Christian school for the majority of my scholastic career. I graduated from Desert Academy in 2004 and have worked some pretty odd jobs before I came to work for Blaze full time in 2008. I worked at Chilaca's Restaurant during high school as a bus boy, as well as being a Correctional Officer at the Santa Fe County Jail. I also gave my hand at banking for while and really liked it but couldn't pay my bills as a Bank Teller with a wife and two kids at the time. I also worked for a Title and Escrow company for 3 years and made many friends who I still love and talk to occasionally.

Although I was brought up in a Christian home and attended a private Christian school, I knew a lot about Jesus but I didn't know Him. Although I wasn't a horrible kid in worldly standards, I was still an enemy of God. The Holy Spirit was convicting me all this time of the sin that I was involved in, but it wasn't until my 21st birthday when I almost lost everything.

At this time, I was attending Blaze Christian Fellowship and Pastor Carlos and Pastor Rudy pulled me into the office and officially exercised church discipline on me. They told me that I couldn't call myself a Christian and keep living in sin with my girlfriend even though at this time we already had two children. After they told me this, I was furious, I was done with church. All it was doing was making my life hard, but that’s when something interesting happened.

My sin started to disgust me. This life I was living was making my heart spiritualy heavy. I talked to my parents many times who would often take me to lunch and ask when I was going to submit my life to Christ. After one of these conversations, I called Pastor Carlos and told him that I wanted to know Jesus, and told him that I didn't want to live this life anymore. The rest is His story. From that point, the men of Blaze brought me in and trained me up. They taught me all about the Bible, about Jesus and what He had done for me. I married my girlfriend Andrea in Pastor Carlos' office after he walked us through marriage counseling and biblical living. We did have my wife's dream wedding about 5 months after the office wedding and God has been working in both of our lives ever since.

Since then, I now am a full time Pastor of Blaze Christian Fellowship, the place were I was once asked to leave, LOL! I am so blessed to be part of what God has done and is doing through Blaze. My prayer is that through me, by the power of the Holy Spirit, many people are rescued from a life of rebelion which is not pleasing to God, as I was. With the hope that they inturn, go, and make the name of Jesus famous wherever they me be.
