35.8% of Romania's 3.7 million children are at risk of poverty and social exclusion. 400,000 school-aged children are not in school. Over 50,000 children are in the social care system and separated from their families, primarily due to poverty, violence, or abandonment.

This summer, 21 students and chaperones have the opportunity to go to Romania to serve.  One way will be to sit with abandoned babies/children in the hospital and just hold them, as they have very little physical human connection and the hospitals just don’t have the staff to provide this basic need.  

We will also be putting on a Vacation Bible School for impoverished children in the village of Budila.  These families are part of the Romani population, known as Gypsies throughout Europe, and we have the opportunity to share the Gospel with them through educational activities and games and by showing them Jesus' love and care for them.
